While walking the aisles at ICAST and Summer Outdoor Retailer, it is quite evident that kayak fishing’s popularity is increasing at a dramatic pace.
Jacksonville Florida – Across the entire country, more and more anglers are purchasing kayaks to fill their saltwater fix, and according to Capt. Captain Mike Genoun, Founder/Editor-in-Chief of the Command Media Group, this was clearly evident at the record breaking sixth annual Jacksonville, Florida Kayak Fishing Classic. Genoun reports 430 anglers from California, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas, and states all along the eastern seaboard searched for redfish, trout, and flounder. This catch-photo-release charity event raised over $43,000 and had more than 100 sponsors and thousands of dollars in prizes and giveaways.
